IPL 2009 Player Rankings - Batsmen

The best bowler in IPL 2009 was no doubt Matthew Hayden of Chennai Super Kings. He got 572 runs at an average of 52 and a strike rate of 144.81. He struck 5 half-centuries in the process and hit 22 sixes and 60 fours.

He was followed by the the new star on the horizon, who came at the end and shot to the top, Manish Pandey (Kungfu Panda) who scored 168 runs in the 5 matches he got at an average of 84 and a strike rate of 142.37. In the process he hit one century and struck 4 sixes and 17 fours.

Third came van Wyk of Kolkata Knight Riders who in just 5 matches scored 167 runs at an average of 55.66 runs at a strike rate of 126.51.

IPL 2009 Player Rankings - Bowlers

The best bowler in IPL 2009 was A. Singh of Rajasthan Royals. He got just 5 matches, but took 9 wickets at an average of 10.55 each, and an economy rate of 5.42 RPO.

He was followed by the old stalwarts Muthiah Muralitharan (Chennai Super Kings) taking 14 wickets at an average of 18.64 and an economy rate of 5.22 RPO, and Anil Kumble (Royal Challengers Bangalore) taking 21 wickets at an average of 16.52 each, and an economy rate of 5.86 RPO came in 3rd just a few decimals behind Murali.
