A very strong world cup with a lot expected to happen

One Dayers, is about the change that cricket has witnessed over the last few decades. With the advent of Kerry Packers rebels – a new form of cricket emerged. In 1975 it was all formalized with the launch of Cricket World Cup (first edition). It took time to catch the fancy of cricket lovers the world over, however when minnows India grabbed the World Cup, the world sat up and took this form seriously. They knew – Kings could be dethroned here!

From that day the World Cup has exchanged hand many times, found new champions and new ways of playing. Strategies were created and destroyed in a single evening, with the epitome of strategic failure being the first time a team scored above 400 runs and then losing the match! 2006 became a watershed year and this years World Cup is going to be a class act. This time we are going to see some of the greatest one day players playing for the last time. We have great batsmen like Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Rick Ponting, Matthew Hayden, Saurav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Stephen Fleming, Inzamamul Haq, Shahid Afridi, and Sanath Jayasuria possibly seeing their last world cup. And in bowlers you would see Anil Kumble, MuthiahMuralitharan, Chaminda Vaas, Shaun Pollock, Glenn McGrath, also take the bow.

Let us roll! Take time to post your comments here all during the world cup!
